I have two WD hard drives installed on my computer. The
main drive is only 10 GB in size. The slave drive is 30
GB in size. Windows XP Home is the operationg system. I
would like to reverse the drives so that the larger
capacity drive is the boot drive.

I used Western Digital's Data Lifeguard Tools to begin the
process. I selected "Partition and Format". The process
got about 60% complete when an "error" was reported. The
program automaticly went to the Data Lifeguard Tools. The
Diagnostic tests found no errors on either drive.

I had to use Window's "diskmgnt.msc" to restore the slave
dirve. I am back where I started. I would like some
suggestions on how to accomplish this task.

Thanks

The WD Diagnostic Tools dont do much in XP except,"Found
No Errors".
Load XP cd,boot from cd,recovery,you can format,and
partition.Type:FORMAT C: /FS:ntfs
For the other type:DiskPart then type:list volumes
Then youd select a volume to partition, for info on each
type:FORMAT /? DiskPart /?
C: being the hd,ntfs the file system,for password,hit
enter on keyboard,w/o any other entry,if prompted for
it.
