It doesn't matter whether you have it master or slave if everything is
working. What matters is which drive you have Windows installed on and which
drive is your C drive. There are several things you can do.

1) Create your own separate user account, make it password protected, and
then install all programs and save all your documents on your separate drive
that you have assigned a drive letter by using Computer Management under
Administrative Tools.

2) Post here under another thread or go to Google.com and type in how to
dual boot with XP (if you are using XP). You obviously have an OS on one
drive working, so leave that one alone. What you will want to do is set up
the second drive as its own partition and install another OS on it. Then
when you boot up, you will get to choose which OS (drive) you want to boot.
If you are worried about your dad seeing your drive's contents, then you
need to learn how to secure your drive and its access with a password.

First of all what you are trying to do is dual boot...here is some info on
it.
http://windows.about.com/gi/dynamic.../pro/using/howto/gettingstarted/multiboot.asp

So now that you've read that you realise that your Dell HD does not contain
the necesary drivers to boot your Dad's system unless he has exactly the
same system as your old Dell.
You can however reinstall XP onto that Dell drive from within your Dad's XP
if you have a store bought version of XP,XP would then correct all of the
drivers needed....you will have to carefully watch the screens to make sure
you pick your HD to install to and to overwrite your present XP directory.
XP would automatically setup the dual boot option and it would show when you
start the computer.....so next you would need a way to identify which
version was which...say by naming your version XP2 or whatever.

Its not accounts you need worry about........its the general hardware on
DAD's computer...it will NOT match the hardware that is already part of YOUR
XP and therefore your XP will NOT boot from your dads machine....is that
simple enough for you?? of would you like to go into more detail????
