Hi,
I have 2 ISP and 2 firewalls and 2 default gatways and windows 2000 server.
When I testing internet connectivity by turnoff ISP 1 and so my default
gateway 1 is not switching gateway 2 and I can not browse internetnet. If I
manully my up gateway 2 then I can browse internet. Why I have to do this
manully? Even though I try to set metric 1 for gateway 1 and 2 for gateway 2
but still didn't work.
need help

Thanks

the problem the local network card doesn't know the isp1 is down, so it still route to the isp1.

Did you set additional (default) routes on each Firewall/router to find
the other firewall/router when it's own ISP default gateway is down?

If we send to one of these routers and it doesn't know about the other
router then it cannot use the other router to "help".
