Two computers can't find each other on the same network

They can ping each other but they can neither open up the workgroup that
they are both set to be in and so forth. They can't browse the network to
set up a printer on the other. I have a Dlink router and a laptop with XP
pro and wireless connection and a xp home desktop with a wired connection to
the router. Dlink says it is my settings. But I have gone through them and I
don't see anything that could be the problem. Any suggestions?

Any help would be greatly appreciated..Thanks :)

If you don't have the XP firewall turned off, try turning that off. My
Linksys tells me to turn it off. If I don't, I can't see the other
computers in My Network Places. Go to Control Panel to your Network
Connections and to Properties for your NIC card and then the Advanced Tab.

I don't know anything else, maybe someone else will come along with some
help.
Good Luck,
Ed.
