Does anybody know how to combine (merge) two archive.pst files (I have
unfortunately made an archive.pst file and an archive1.pst file) into one in
Outlook 2007 ?

Open the two files in Outlook using the File menu > Open > Outlook Data File
then drag/drop the items from one to the other then close both.

Thank you. It worked !

This works ok if you are combining pst files that have different dates. When
two pst files are large (over 10,000 e-mails) and many may be duplicates,
when you just move them over, you get a file much larger than 2gigs, and many
of the e-mails are duplicates. it would take a very long time to one by one
go through and delete duplicates. is there a way to merge pst files without
duplicates?

Not really, but there are duplicate removers (some free) that can do the job.
