Well, I did a complete uninstall of all ATI software, then manually
removed all remaining vestiges I could find (removed \Program Files\ATI
Technologies\, removed \WINDOWS\ATI*.*, removed all ATI references in
the registry)... seems to have cleared up the issue with the ATIMMC TV
tuner app locking up the whole interface.

Now I'm back to a problem I had with my old Rage128 AIW, albeit not as
serious: I still get the odd BSOD that appears to be tuner-related. I
can fire up the tuner and it will run fine forever, but if I shut it
down and start it back up a couple times, it will soon cause a BSOD.

I let the Catalyst diagnostics do their thing with the settings (AGP 2X,
no fast-writes) but it still does it now and then...

Cats aren't really made to use with the Rage chip. Cat config program is
brain dead even in a Radeon system.

MMC7.2 was the last supported version for 128 AIW but a lot of people use
7.7. MMC doesn't seem to shut down very well. I've never had BOSD but
frequently have to reboot to get MMC to re-run properly. Quite often after
quitting TV Player and shutting the system down the shut down hangs because
MMC is not responding. Making their software work correctly doesn't seem to
be ATIs longsuit.
Just my observation, YMMV.

Hmm, you missed the original question, and I forgot to mention in this
one: this is with a brand-new Radeon 9800 Pro. The Rage128 was my
previous card and I suspect it left some stuff behind when I uninstalled
it that was causing problems with the Radeon.
