Two absolutely great-sounding freewares: mp3DirectCut (trimmer) and 1by1 (player)

Don't know if these have been mentioned before, but just found out
about them. mp3DirectCut, like MP3Trim, can edit an MP3 without
encoding (far out!). I haven't tried anything here yet but it bears
looking into.

Main page:
http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/

Links to the products, though all found on the page above:

mp3DirectCut:
http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/#mp3dc
direct dl link:
http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/mp3DirectCut.zip

The absolutely neat thing about this app is that, like an audio editor
that does encode, it shows the music as a waveform. Totally awesome!

*************
1by 1 - a directory mp3 player that plays without using a playlist

1by1:
http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/#1by1
direct dl link:
http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/1by1.zip

************

Both are incredibly small, under 100kb! Manuals and other goodies
available on that page.

If anyone uses these and finds them useful, perhaps they can comment
(?).

Good luck!

I haven't tried MP3DirectCut, but have used 1by1 many times and I find it
to be an adequate player. I recently spent some time trying several players
and for the time being have settled on MediaMonkey
http://www.mediamonkey.com.

These are the free players I have installed and find them all to be good.
