Dan

I've just bought this 1 GB flash drive. In anticipation that I would
need win98 driver, I went on and searched the web. I came across a
place saying that it doesn't require driver to be detected on Win98.
And, true, when I booted my desktop to win98 and plugged it in, it was
detected and installed without any prompting.
I was happy
But not for long. When I later booted my laptop to win98 and plugged
the twinMos in, it was detected alright, but launched driver wizard. No
tricks I tried worked. Now I'd like to ask for help in one of the two
possible remedies to take (1) where can I download the driver for
Win98? or (2) how can I pick the files that makes it possible to work
on my desktop's win98 so that I can somewhat deceive my laptop into
getting the right driver.

I guess it means that yhe desktop already have the USB driver installed so
it works when the laptop doesn't have USB driver install so it doesn't work.
None of my systems using Win98 to know for sure, but I do remember that I
had to have driver for just about all hardwares, and lot of newer hardwares
I get later often mention driver for Win98 and few other Windows versions
(and often no driver needed for WinXP).

Where? I would start with the TwinMOS site and go from there... and start
Googling for thing like "TwinMOS USB" or "USB driver Win98" or similar.

First thing I did even before plugging the thing in the computer was to
look for the WIN98 driver, because I know that flash drivers usually
require it. After failing to get driver for my model I read on.
Somewhere it was said that no Win98SE drivers are required for this
thingy. True to the word, it was detected and installed by my Win98 on
desktop, but not my Win98 on laptop. It's detected but a wizard is
launched, and it doesn't get the right driver.

If someone has the answer for the second option (see > > above) I guess
It would be much more handy... or for the first option, someone pls
send me a specific link where the Win98 driver for TwinMOS Z4 USB 2.0
Mobile disk can be obtained.

Second item down.
Happy Xmas and bw..OJ

Thanks, I downloaded and it worked fine. I feel I have to share with
this group that the TwinMOS driver I'd installed earlier on my desktop
for 256 MB flash disk worked fine with the 1 GB flash disk too.

Now it starts to make sense... normally a USB flash drive
DOES require a driver on Win98, if not the specific driver
that came with the device then a similar enough compatible
driver. Twinmos' claim of no driver required for Win98
seemed false to me, but I didn't say anything since I didn't
have one of those products to confirm it.
