I have long enjoyed TweakUI. Is there a version for Vista? Or will Vista
have most of those setting built in. I have not installed Vista yet.

Hi Kate,

There is no TweakUI for Vista at this time, and I don't know that this tool
will be updated. What feature were you hoping for? There may be a method of
achieving it, or it may be built in to the new OS.

grouping, auto logon, special folders and a couple other things I'm sure

Search for TweakUi 1.33 on the Net. .
It is an old version, but it works just as well on Vista as
on XP.
Mine is french, but I guess you can find an english version too.

How did you get it to install on the Control Panel.
When I click on tweakui.cpl it asks if it should be
installed on the CP, and when I click Yes, nothing
happens. Of course the Tweakui 2.x versions for
XP just won't install, period.

In Vista, how does one create a shortcut without
the "shortcut" appended to the name.
It can be done with TweakUI 1.33 (which by the way
seems to have been created for Win 98 - but I am not
sure.>

I really do not recall, but I will uninstall it and reinstall to
see how it was done. But it may work without the
Control Panel extension. I will check that too.
You may have had to install it as Win98 compatible.
