Hi,
I have seen questions, but not simple answers, from people who have done the
following (me too, hence this post!):
I used TweakUI for XP Professional to change the 'Programs' folder from
'c:\Program Files' to 'd:\Program Files'. I then noticed that under the
Start button, All Programs menu ALL of the folders in 'd:\Program Files' are
shown (and I have a lot, so this is a problem!). Using TweakUI to change
back simply reduces the problem by listing all of the folders in 'c:\Program
Files'.
As a crappy workaround, I have created an empty folder and used TweakUI to
set Programs to this empty folder.
This problem only affects me. Other users of the computer are fine. The
'folders' shown are actually folders, and not shortcuts, according to their
properties, so deleting them is not an option.
I do not / cannot use a System Restore point.
Is there a simple way of resetting the All Programs menu back to the
default? That is, only shortcuts installed by installation processes to
show.
Thanks!
Pete
