That's not exactly informative. Can you give the detailed reasons why
users will be disappointed?

No. Not as per Windows 95 to XP done by Microsoft employees etc. There
usually are 3rd party apps that do tweaking, though. But be careful.

you'll be disappointed because it comes in a "free" (crippled) version and a
Pro ($$) version

if you install the free one, be prepared for a few arm-twisting dialogs
trying to get you to upgrade.

when you install it, the first thing it demands is that you turn off UAC -
bad idea for most people.

Once its installed, you'll find that any functionality not already included
in Vista is not available, iow, again to get you to buy the Pro version

don't even bother with the free version.

A related question:

According to my UpgradeAdvisorTaskList:

"Tweak UI (Microsoft) This program might have minor compatibility issues
after upgrading to Windows Vista. For more information, go to the vendor's
website."

Will upgrading to Vista disable/uninstall Tweak UI or will I have to do it
myself?

to start with you have to REGISTER to download FREE version.

FREE version has nothing to REALLY help with tweaking a system.
to get anything worthwhile you have to BUY the upgrade version.

and thirdly the author has a snotty attitude.

Agreed. I had the free version installed and it was pretty much
worthless. All it did was give you another location to change options,
that ALREADY EXIST in Vista.

One of my biggest pet peaves in windows is the insistence of Windows
to put that stupid little arrow on shortcut icons. That's all I am
looking to do in Vista, get rid of the little arrow. :)

Not only does the upgrade leave TweakUI installed but the uninstall for this
and many other programs fails in Vista. I saw a long protocol for how to
uninstall it but it depended on having its msi file. Does anyone have a
workaround to get rid of TweakUI after upgrading to Vista if you don't have
its msi file?

If you haven't upgraded yet, delete as much as you can beforehand since you
may not be able to delete afterwards. This affects even some Microsoft
programs, most notably two of the large free add-ons for Tablet PCs.
