TV-Wonder PCI Problems in Windows XP

I've started having some problems with my TV-Wonder, particularly the TV
viewing. I'm running MMC 7.9 for the TV-Wonder card with the Catalyst 3.7
drivers and a Radeon 9600. I recently upgraded to this video card. As far
as I can remember I had no issues with the TV performance. Sound goes
through the Auxiliary on an Audigy. Now the TV module does one of several
things randomly:

- Hard lock up as it runs - this requires a reboot, as I cannot close
the task
- Locks up on exit - similar to the above, I can still see the window
frame and hear the sound, but I can't shut down the task.

I haven't bothered to see if capturing is functional as I am pretty
disappointed with the TV functionality.

Any help will be appreciated.
 
I've solved my own problem after a few hours of research.

Here's a couple of links to help those whose TV-Wonders lock up while
watching TV. This is a pre-release Service Pack 2 fix from Microsoft and
yet they are not posting it anywhere, you have to call them to get it. I
found a site to download it from.

Here's the Microsoft article:

And the files:
http://web.tampabay.rr.com/jt007/TUNERFIX.exe

If you've posted this question under other threads, or in other forums,
please take the time to post this solution there as well. I hope it works

FWIW, installed without a problem. Rebooted and nothing seems wrong. It
will take a while to know if it resolved the problem though.
 
Thank you very much for the link, now my TV VE works
great and no crashing! ... no just to get the remote wonder
to work at a level that makes sense ...

Definately has improved the situation... No TV freezes in more than 24
hours. I was seeing freezing 2-3 times a day before this patch!

Hey, me too! The file worked great. Installation was nothing more than
unzipping and running the .exe. No more freezes. Thanks for the help
as I have been struggling with this for two days.
