TV TUNER PRO ISSUE!

Okay... whenever I run the TV tuner program, the Line-in always becomes
muted in the control panel. I have tried several times to uninstall
mediacenter.. going from 8.2 to 8.8, etc... but it never saves my settings.
It always does the stupid "Line-in" muted thing. Whenever I try to run the
initialization wizard from the setup menu, when I get to the screen that
lets me select "Analog mix" and I then select "Line-in" the tv tuner program
freezes on me. I also tried installing the hotfix for WindowsXP which is
supposed to help with stability issues to no avail... anyways... I'm also
using a soundblaster audigy 1 card in my system. If anyone could give me
some help on resolving this issue, it would be GREATELY APPRECIATED. Its an
inconvenience when I want to sit here and watch TV and have to unmute the
line in.. but it becomes a REAL problem when I want to schedule a record and
I'm not here to unmute the line-in and end up with no sound.
Thank you all in advance!

I'm having the exact symptoms you describe. It began when I "upgraded" from
MMC 8.2 to 8.8.
Right now I'm trying to go back to 8.2. Having no luck. Searching archives
for a "driver cleaner" I seem to recall seeing.

P4 2.8 (HT)
ASUS P4P800 Dlx
Radeon 9600 Pro
1 GB RAM
Audigy 2

EXACTLY. Thats when I first had the issue too when going from 8.2 to 8.8
.... let me know if you find that driver cleaner

I just sent a note to ATI Customer Care for help. I'll post any replies I
receive.

As for the driver cleaner, I found the thread a little further down. I
don't think I'll try it, because it removes all ATI drivers. I just want to
remove the TV Wonder and MMC files and registry entries.
Here is the URL for that cleaner:

use the MIC in

I've got the same problem as these other guys, you can't even choose the Mic
in since the damn thing freezes as soon as you try to move the input in
software.

Man I'm sick of software problems! Lately nothing seems to work properly.

I at least got past the lockups, but I still have the line-in mute problem.
I totally uninstalled MMC8.8, and re-installed it (after unsuccessfully
trying to go back to MMC8.2). The only difference this time is that I did
the custom install, and did not select the DirectX installation. Also, when
I did the TV setup, I did not check the box that says something like "mute
during recording".
I sent a note to ATI, and they replied that it must be a configuration
problem on my part.
I haven't tried changing from LINE-IN to MIC yet, but I might just do that.

Hi, I have the same issue as well as several others with this software! I
found a way around this bug. I reinstalled (because whenever I try the
Initialization Wizard it locks up) and chose the aux input, which I'm not
using, and it mutes the aux input instead of the line-in. Maybe it will
work for you too.
