How do I get an edited capture back to VHS from my computer?

I capture TV to my computer via the Dazzle 150 unit and edit with
moviemaker or pinnacle studio. I do not have a DVD burner.

I don't know how to play my edited capture on the tv and record it using
the VHS player/recorder.

I've got a Panasonic VHS player/recorder. Regular TV viewing is via
cable and playing a tape requires turning the TV to channel 3.

Any ideas on how to accomplish my goal of moviemaker file or pinnacle
studio file back to VHS?

Thanks,
Bryan

I'm unfamiliar with the Dazzle 150, and if it has an option of returning the
feed to the cam. But in case it doesn't - what model is your computer video
card?

- Output to VCR and TV
The DVC150 has built-in analog video outputs connectors for outputting
your edited video back to a VCR. You can also connect a TV and use it as
a video preview monitor for more precise video editing.
This is from the ad on their website.

My video card is a simple integrated card in my laptop, an intel
graphics controller.

It appears that your Pinnacle Studio manual has a part that refers to this
procedure, in page 146 - Chapter 10.

If you do not have the manual, you can downloat it from
http://www.pinnaclesys.com/SupportFiles/studio8-manual.pdf
That just puts me right back where I started.

The software end of this is easy. Open the file, drag clips to the
timeline, select tape, select create (rendering occurs), select play,
and push record on the vcr.

The hardware end requires some assumptions. Computer to Dazzle 150 via
USB, Dazzle 150 to VCR with cables connected to the Dazzle 150 outs and
to the VCR ins.

While the file is playing and the vcr is recording, the only thing being
recorded is TV shows. I can't find an arrangement that gets the file to
record instead of a tv show.

Cable to vcr, vcr to tv, tv set to ch 3, vcr set to ch 3.

I'm stumped!

I think you need to do one of these:

a. Set your VCR to record from Line In, rather than antenna/channels. On my
Toshiba VCR's remote control I have a button "Input Select". It modifies
whether I can select a channel on the VCR, or L which stands for Line -
which is a seperate "channel" where it receives its input from the
Video+Audio In.

b. Connect the cables from the DVC's output to the TV's input, then select
channel 3 on VCR.

I think option a, despite being longer on this message's description - is
the better way. You must have an input select button or mode in the menu -
otherwise you wouldn't have the video+audio in connectors on the VCR.
