TV-OUT - No Color !?

I have a Compaq Armada E500 (PIII/600mhz/10Gb) with the
ATI Rage Mobility graphics chip, running WinXP Prof..

I can't get the (composite) TV-out to work... well it does,
but it's only in black and white.

Does anyone have any ideas what's going wrong?

Have software that i received with the Compaq E500, Win98SE
and W2k.

Anybody ?

Within the Bios (or maybe within the video driver settings, but more likely
the Bios) there should be a colour standard setting for the Composite
output. Select PAL for UK and most of Europe and NTSC for the US.

It's most likely that your TV doesn't understand the colour standard you are
currently sending to it.

I'm not familiar with your hardware, but it's probably a matter of setting
it for the correct TV standard. You're probably using one of the PAL
variants in the Netherlands and your system is set for NTSC.
 
You need an SVGA input on your TV.
Now you're trying to get svga on an tv that only has composite imput.
Than you only get black an white, try it on a tv that supports svga a you
have colour.

It work's :

Ïn the BIOS you have to set the :

- Internal display controller to "Primary"
- Video Out to "PAL"

Save changes and exit

What i see on my 14" TFT screen on the Laptop
i get as an image on my TV (1024x768).
I have to close my laptop to see the DVD movie
on the TV.

You need to ensure you connect it to a SCART or S-Video on your tv. It's a
PAL vs NTSC issue.
