Hi.

I'm looking for a way of watching tv on my laptop. The problem is that I
travel often between europe and us, so I'd need something portable and
light, a pcmcia card would be great!

Anyone knows any tv adapter (pcmcia, usb or whatever) that suites my
needs? In other words, something that can decode ntsc as well as pal/secam.

Such products exist (maybe) and a quick Google search will turn them up. The
first item I found was by Hauppauge
http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/prods_usbs.html but their products page
doesn't actually state what TV standards are supported but I suspect that
they might work worldwide since they are being sold in the UK. Of course the
company might manufacture different products for different localities but
given the economies involved it seems likely that they wouldn't. It would be
easy enough to use the contact page and ask.

Yeah Ive seen several cards and USB devices listed as NTSC and PAL but
its not clear whether they mean it comes in two flavors or if one
device can do both.

I contacted the company now, so I'd expect an answer in a week... at
least I hope.
