For a free linux based newsletter/magazine they want too much information
for my liking. Bookmarked though, thanks Gordon.

Hey, they wanted info, I gave them info. And I'm sure the info applies to
*somebody*. I suppose they want demographics to interest advertisers.

So far they haven't sent any nonsense to my (disposable :-) email addy.

Most of the fields weren't mandatory (name, email, country from what I
remember) but concern understood. I've subscribed for the notification (as
opposed to email actual pdf) service using a throway email address.
Haven't had a chance to actually read the first issue yet!

Thanks
Gordon

* - Required information.

* Name:
* E-mail:
* What level of Linux user do you consider yourself?
* What is your job title?
* What is your organization's primary business activity?
* What is the approximate budget for technology or technology-related
products that you will buy, specify, or recommend, for your department or
organization during the next 12 months?
* How much do you anticipate spending on technology products (computers,
home entertainment systems, personal electronics such as cell phones and
PDAs, etc.) for your household in the next 12 months?

I know that I can just fill in a whole lot of BS in all fields, except
email, but I choose not to. :)
I'll just go for a look once a month. Thanks again.

I glanced through it. It's not bad for a mag oriented to newbies. Not
as comprehensive as Linux Format, but for an e-mag, it's not bad.

That's standard info requests for a tech trade journal - almost all of
them do that. The big ones like InfoWorld have you fill out ten pages of
survey info...It's all just to "qualify" you for their advertisers (ie,
how many people who read the mag actually buy stuff). Doesn't mean
you'll get spam from anybody since it would really look bad for a Linux
pub to sell personal info.
