Turning Off Flash in Webpages!!!???

How in hell do I turn off the flash in webpages? Everytime I visit a site that have flash and it takes so long to loads up it's generally not worth the bother of staying around to visit what the site has to offer. But I'd rather switched off the flash enable capability than stay around.
