Turning off computer

ok folks. I just relaoded windows and forget how to have
the computer shut down when I choose "turn off" It
currently just says that the computer can be shut down
and then I have to push the power button on the tower.
how do I have it shut completely down when I choose "turn
off" friom the start menu??
