Hi! I am using Powerpoint 2002 and trying to import
slides from another Powerpoint file without having the
format change. I've tried turning off auto formatting in
many places, but still have the new slides changing fonts,
colors, sizes when they are imported into the new file.
Is there any way to stop this undesirable behavior?

Thanks,

Ken

HI,
Have you tried clicking on th "paste" icon (clipboard
image) that appears on the bottom of the pasted slide?
Once you click it you are given the option to keep the
original format.
Another option is to insert your slides into a new file
by click on "Insert" on the menu, and choosing "Slides
from File...". You will be given a window to choose the
file in which you want slides to be copied from and there
should be a small box on the bottom left with "Keep
Source Formatting" next to it. That should keep all
color, font, etc. of your slides in a new file.
Hope this all helped.

I use Power Point 2000 and when inserting slides from
other '2000' shows I don't have any problem but when
inserting from other version or inserting my '2000' shows
into other versions I have the same problem. We've been
fighting this too but there seems to be no way around it.
It seems that the formating is lost or changes occur
during the process of saving of the file rather than the
process of inserting into it. I don't know if that helps
you or not.

Thanks that worked great. BTW...Since I posted my email
address above I have gotten over 20 messages from people
claiming to be MS with an attached file that is a virus
disguised as a security update file.
