We have turned off the "Auto Update" feature in Windows XP Pro SP2, because
we use another patch management system. However, we keep getting those "Your
Computer May be at Risk" and "There are New Downloads..." messages from the
Taskbar. Is there any way to turn these messages off?

THANKS

Have you tried doing the following?

Go to Control Panel and double click on Security Center.
In the left hand column, click on "Change the way Security
Center alerts me".
In the Altert Settings box, remove the check mark from the box
next to "Automatic Updates".
Click OK.
Close the Security Center.
