When you receive a meeting request in Outlook, whether you
accept or decline it AUTOMATICALLLY posts itself as
TENTATIVE on your calendar.

How can I turn this feature OFF? I have searched all the
properties and cannot find a way to dis-allow tentative
meetings from automatically posting. I only want Accepted
meetings to post.

Can anyone help?

THANK YOU!!

Bumping this message again waiting for a reply from
anyone. We are looking to do the opposite. We want to
turn this feature on. Certain people in our company have
it and some don't. Somewhere there must be a setting.
Any help PLEASE!

If using Outlook 2000, you can turn off the automatic
processing:

Tools, Options, Email Options, Tracking Options. Uncheck
the first box for "Process requests and responses on
arrival". This should turn off the automatic processing
and keep the invites from showing as tentative.

Hope this helps!

I am having the same problem, and it prevents my T3 PDA
from synching correctly. Did you get any answers?
Thanks.

We want to turn this feature on, and the box you stated
was already checked. Strangely this feature works on
some recipient's outlook and others it does not. There
must be something preventing certain users from having an
item automatically show up as Tentative when it arrives
in their mailbox before they click ACCEPT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We have the same issue at our company on 2003. Some people get the tentative meetings and others do not. One in particular wants it, and we can't get it to work. He has the box checked, but still cannot get them to show on his calendar without reading the request first
