turn off my keyboard

I am helping a first-time 2007 user. She opened a 2003 document and is
unable to use her mouse for editing; only the keyboard. How does she turn
the keyboard off.
 
Unplug it - though she will find it somewhat easier to type with a keyboard
than a mouse.
