I accidently turned IPsec on while troubleshooting another
problem. It is now greyed out. I need to turn it off - my
WinXP clients cannot access files/printers.

How do you turn off IPSec?

Where is it greyed out and how did you turn it on? You activate ipsec by
assigning/unassigning the policy that says "yes" after it in the apppropriate
security policy, either Local Security Policy or at domain/OU level. --- Steve

I turned it on in by accident in Network and Dial-up
Connections. Properties of NIC, TCO/IP properties,
Options, advanced,IP Security. Now it is greyed out - no
way to "uninstall it"

Try going to Local Security Policy [secpol.msc] while logged on as an administrator.
Expand ipsec security policies and you should see three policies. Find the one that
is assigned and then right click it and select unassign. If that does not work try
reinstalling tcp/ip as described in link below. --- Steve

What is the process to un-install TCP/IP. I cannot
uninstall button on adapter
