How do you disable the firewall in Windows XP Home.
I want to disable it so I can install Norton Personal
Firewall.

Thanks,
Tom

Right click on "My Network Places", then choose "properties", then right click on the connection icon in the main window. Choose "properties" again, then click on the advanced tab at the top, then uncheck the box under the section "Internet connection firewall".

Ted, I tried this. BUT:
I right clicked on Network Connections and I have the
following Icons:
Internet Gateway Internet Connection enabled
Network Bridge

The 1st icon 1394 Connection enabled, bridged 1394 Net
adapter
The 2nd icon Local Area Connection enabled, Bridged
Intel (R) Pro/100 VE Network
The 3rd icon Network Bridge enabled, MAC Bridge Miniport

When I right click on either of the 3 icons I do get a
properties option but the properties screen on any of the
icons does not have an advanced tab. They only have 1 tab
across the top and that is a General Tab. The only
exception is the icon for Local Area Connection and it
has both a Genral tab and a Authenticaiton Tab.

What is wrong?
Tom
