When my Vista computer goes into Sleep/Hybernate mode, it seems to be
completely OFF. There are no lights on, no HD's or fans running. When it is
in this mode is it OK to turn the powerstrip off (that the computer is
attached to) to turn the computer off or is it better to "Wake" the computer
from Sleep/Hybernate mode then turn the computer off using the computers
Off/On button? Thank you for your help. Mike

Better to turn the OS off from within Windows and not shut off the power
while in sleep mode. Essentially though, the sleep mode only uses a slight
trickle of power - barely more than when totally shut off.

Thank you Rick, I usually turn my computer off at night but I wasn't sure
which would be better once it was in sleep mode and I was getting ready to
turn in for the night. From what you say, it's better just to leave it that
way till the morning or if I really feel the need to turn it off, I should
power it back up, then turn if off the correct way. Thanks again for the
help.
