turn off cached logon

Hi!

I'm trying to turn off the cached logon on the Windows XP Client, but
it seems that it doesn't work. I already set the Registry Key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current
Version\Winlogon\cachedLogonsCount to 0, and delete the user
credentials that are saved during authentification with peap. the first
time, he asks me again for my credentials, but then he saves them
anyways. I already read a lot of newsgroups, but all of them tell me
the same, that i just have to set this registry key, or set a group
policy to not logon before having a network (when I tried this, he told
me that he couldn't find a domain, so he couldn't login at all).
What could be wrong?

What exactly do you mean by cached credentials? The registry key you refer
to is for a computer that is a member of an Active Directory domain and
allows the computer [or not] to store Active Directory domain logon
credentials so that you can logon to the Active Directory domain when a
domain controller can not be contacted and would show a type 7 logon event
in the security log. --- Steve
 
I guess I was a bit confused. Even if I have a user that uses his
notebook in two different domains, it should theoretically work fine,
because the user has two different accounts and the credentials are
saved by user name. The notebook doesn't know that these two users are
one and the same person ;-)
For my tests I just have to delete the registry key if I the computer
should ask me for my credentials.
