Hi all,

I've got this problem with a webbased application.
I have an option to select different languages, one of them is Turkish.

The text appears garbled, for instance the "ç" appears as a square or
box.
Now when I Copy/paste this text into MS-Word or Notepad or whatever it
appears correctly.

I've tried numerous Encoding sets in IE and also Multi-language support

in Windows control panel to no avail.

The version of IE is 6.0.2900. On another system with thhe same specs I

don't have this problem.

Any ideas?

Michiel

Hi Michiel,

I Assume that you have the Multiple Languages Package installed, hence you
said you can see the Text in Word.

=> To the other E-mail you need to set Language Option or Add the Turkish
language to your Browser.
To do that:
1 = Click on the Start button.
2 = Click on Control Panel.
3 = Double Click on Network and Internet Connections.
3 = Double click on Interent Options and on the General Tab click on the
Languages Button.
There you can Add a new language in addition to the English language.
Also on Font Button try to set the font for the Turkish Language there (be
sure to write the settings there before you change
you may need to go back to English after you finish with Turkish Lang).

Click Ok and try to Open your yahoo , Hotmail and Edit a message hopefully
you will be able to edit/Read in Turkish and you can switch in between
English and
Turkish as you want.

Or on View >> Encoding >> More Turkish (Iso)

Turkish (Windows)
select this

View >> Encoding >> Be sure AutoSelect is checked/Selected and
Right-to-Left (Arabic-Hebrow-Urdu-Farsi)/ Left-to-Right (Western
Europe-Eastern Europe) is also Selected.

Read this article about the layout:

HTH.
Please let us know if you need further help or if it was of help to you.

Select a different font. The one being used does not contain the characters
that are showing up as squares.

If a font is specified by the web application, that is the one that is
used.

If you do not have that font installed on your system, IE uses whatever is
set in Internet Options> General> Fonts.
