any success? failure? problems?

I will be running:

chaintech apogee mobo
lite-on 48x12x48 cdrw
ati radeon 8500 64mb (also will oc this)
lite-on 16x dvd
volcano 7+ w/as III
maxtor quiet drive 60-80 gig (haven't decided yet)
256mb crucial pc2700

Not had the pleasure ...

I don't think you'll have any problems, although I could not find it listed on AMD's "approved" PSU.

Then again my Enermax is not listed either.

Nice "rig" you have there ... not keen on ATI myself. :P

thanks muckshifter.

it's always nice to know that the eternal debate between geforce and ati will never end!!:D

Actually, I just remembered I have an ATI card in the workshop computer. :)

The rest are nVidia though. :D

ATI

I think ATI are the Dog's dangly bits! :D

Have a humble 7500 32MB DDR atm but just ordered up the Hercules version of the 128MB 8500. It was going cheap following the release of the 9000 & 9700.

I can't see any probs with 420W running your system, Bambired.

Thanks for the feedback Floppybootstomp!

I think ATI are the Dog's dangly bits!
:D I have to say, I did have to read it a couple of times because I wasn't quite sure if that meant it's good or not!!!

:spin: you know how us westerners are!!!

Sorry, Bambired, sometimes I forget about the US/UK culture clash thing :D

Actual expression is 'The Dog's B******s' and it translates roughly as 'I think that's jolly good'.

I don't think they have the b*****ks word either!

Maybe the word 'balls' would suffice in this instance for the sake of intercontinental comprehension, but it does lose something in the translation.

:D
