Tunneling problem

I have a program that I need to use in my work that logs me into a network
at the Boeing Company and allows me access to certain programs like internal
email and another application. But, I am unable to get through the security
fence from my Vista laptop. I have all the codes and passwords to do it from
XP. I can also get into most of the other programs in what they call their
"Portal." The IT guys tell me that it's because a program called "Aventail
Connect SSL VPN" is not compatible with Vista.

Since they also told me that a Computer Based Training program they sent me
was not compatible, but I got it to work anyway, I wonder if it's possible
that they are just using this as an excuse to say "We don't have any
experience with Vista yet so we are not going to look at it.'

Does anyone have any experience with anything like this Aventail or any
other VPN program?

Or, as an option, how hard is it to configure this laptop to a Dual Boot
setup? They said they could give me a new copy of XP to install on this
machine.

Thanks,

Tom

I use two VPN product. Cisco VPN software, which they have a released
version for Vista and my company's MSRA program. The MSRA uses a smartcard
from Activekey to valdate me. Currently I can't get Vista to load drivers
for that Smart card. According to Activekey's website support is coming. Our
corporate roll out of Vista isn't expect to start until Q3'07, which is when
they plan to release the new VPN software that will support Activekey's
product and install correctly with Vista.

You could try to do a google search to see if their is a Aventail client
release for VistA, but if that doesn't pain out, you might just be stuck.

One possible solution to consider would be to install VPC2007 and run XP and
your VPN client there. Some VPN clients won't run in VPC's but I know that
it is possible.

Hello,

Thank you for your experience sharing.

Thanks & Regards,
