Tun Miniport Adapter -

Can any one please tell me

- what this is
- what it does
- why it always gives "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
- why one cannot remove it "may be needed for boot" (but it doesn't
work anyway!)

"Microsoft Tun Miniport Adapter , a network driver that provides a tunnel
with a File API interface, through which a user-mode Windows application or
service can interact with the network stack as if the application were a
network interface."

If there were ever enough sites using the new IPv6 protocol, you would need
it. Right now, Vista puts a v6 packet in a v4 envelope. XP does not.
