The terminal server is located offsite, but the sysadmin
at our other office tells me that there a few log entries
with event id of 1004 that could correspond to my
connection attempts.
An eventid of 1004 is indicative of the server being
unable to issue your client a license.
Have you tried removing the MSLicensing registry key from
the client computer to see if the problem goes away? Can
the system admin verify that the terminal server can
connect to the license server on its own?
I am wondering why the server will issue a client license to one machine and
not to another. I am using the same logon credentials and both PC's are
nearly identical in configuration.
I did remove the registry key from the client, but it did not seem to do any
good. Just to verify, the key I deleted was:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSLicensing.
When the client tries to reconnect now, is the client then
issued a new license?
Can you ping the terminal server from the client? Have
you tried reducing the size of the network MTU to see if
this fixes anything?
