Hello,

I've installed Terminal Server Licenses and I've activated
the server. When I look at from TSL Manager, server is
activated but clients can not get licenses. Server is
giving only temporary licenses. Server was working without
a problem since I've replaced it with a new one. Any idea?

Is your TSLS a Windows 2000 Server? Also, are your
Windows servers in an AD domain? If so, the TSLS needs to
be on a DC.
Do you see any errors in the EventLogs of the TS and the
TSLS?

Nay

TSLS is a W2K Server and not a member of domain. Clients are Sun and HP unix. We are using TSL for Citrix Metaframe. TSLS is activated, I see available license count correctly but when I try to use more than 6 licenses (4 temporary + 2 built in) it says " no license available" !! I found some solutions but all about windows client (delete some entries in the registery). Thanks.

It's not clear to me which licenses are missing (you need 3 different
CALs for each client).
Could you post the exact error message, as well as the EventID from
the EventLog on the TS?
How many TS CALs have you installed on the TS LS?
Do you have enough Citrix CALs?
And normal W2K Server CALs?

If you can connect with 6 clients concurrent, irrespective of *which*
clients, then it's not a TS CAL problem, but a Server CAL or Citrix
CAL problem (those are by concurrent usage, TS CAL is per client
device).

I've installed 15 CALs. 12 available, 3 issued at the moment. License server is activated, I don't see temporary licenses any more. Error message is "No license was available for user SYSTEM using product TermService 5.0. " event ID 201. Thanks.

A pity that the previous context of the thread is gone, but the error
message tells you that the problem has nothing to do with TS CALs,
you are short on normal server CALs for the Terminal Server.

You can check this in the licensing applet in Control Panel.

When I configured the server for a several times, I always selected "per seat". I don't know why it was in the "per server" mode. I changed it to "per seat" and it works now. Thank you for your help.
