I have moved our 2000 server to our head office. At HQ,
there's already a NT4 server (PDC). The NT4 server is on
domain "Example", but the 2000 server (which is a TS
server) is on domain "Example2". The two server are now on
the same subnet - 192.168.1.200 and 192.168.1.5
respectively. The users authenticate to the NT4 "Example"
domain. Now they need to TS to the 2000 server. The users
are also on the same subnet. However, when I TS to the
server, it times out - I connect to its IP address. Also
in the available servers window, the 2000 server is not
available. The users run Win98. If I do not authenticate
to the domain, I still cannot connect to the TS server,
but I can see the server in the available servers window.
I have tried connecting to it using the server name. I
presume that you cannot connect to the TS server because
they are on a different domain?
