I have had limited success with the TS Printer Driver Redirection wizard
(TSPDRWiz) (used to map remote client printers to drivers installed on the
TS). The list of available drivers is not very long (I only get a couple of
dozen mostly HP laserjets) and I am having trouble adding drivers to the
mappable list. When I use the Add Driver Wizard (accessible from the
TSPDRWiz) I get the standard list of manufacturers and printers, but usually
cannot get any of the listed printers to appear back on the list of printers
the TSPDRWiz will map to. When I use Have Disk to add a driver that I have
downloaded from the manufacturer's website, the only ones that I can get to
appear on the mappable list are the ones that have been identified on the
website as specifically for Windows Server 2003.
The TSPDRWiz documentation file refers to "installed Version 3 MINI drivers"
implying that these are different from some other installed drivers. What
are "Version 3 MINI drivers", and how do they get installed? Is there any way
to create or assemble a MINI driver from a not-so-mini driver and then tell
the system that it has been installed?
Or do we just tell the people with the unmappable printers that they are out
of luck?
Alternatively, is there any resource anyone knows about that will show what
other printers a given printer will emulate successfully so that we can use
the TSPDRWizard to map an unknown printer to something that it will emulate?
Whew!
Thanks in advance,
