TS Client printing problem

We have a group of remote users trying to print to an IP based printer
on their workgroup which is configured as their default printer. They
can print locally with no problems. In the Event Logs I can see the
TS creates the printer redirect with no problem (it's a brother
mfc-6700 driver). When the clients print, I can see the document
enter the print queue and disappear...the event log shows the job
printed successfully with the correct number of pages..but it never
reaches the client's printer. The Terminal Server is a Win 2000
server, SP 3 with the post SP3 printer hotfix loaded. Any ideas??

Have you tried to replace that driver with a different one
or remap the printer driver using the ntprint.inf file?

Yes...both. We replaced the driver with another Brother driver from
2000 on both client and server machines...then also did a redirect
using the nprint.inf with no luck. Another user just reported they
are experiencing the same issue now. We did a Windows Update about 2
weeks ago...could those updates overwrite the printer hotfix we
previously put on?

You can also create a new DWORD called "FilterQueueType" with the
value "FFFFFFFF" in the registry at this location...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server
Client\Default\AddIns\RDPDR

This will redirect all ports to TS and then just make sure that you
have the driver on the server and you should be good to go. I found
this on the Microsoft website as a work around some TS printer issues.
Really solves the Network printing problem in 2000.

Good Luck,
Rob
