After installing Windows 2000 sp4 on one of our servers,
we are unable to see the USB drive via TS, it can be seen
in the device manager view, just not in explorer. The USB
drive can be seen from the console.

The event log reports error 134, and the description is:-
"Received a device interface ARRIVAL notification for
device:" followed by a strange looking url.

The USB drive is a Maxtor onetouch USB device

Any advice appreciated.

Regards

The entries for the drives on your machine are stored in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices

Try exporting this key, then deleting the entry that pertains to the USB
drive. After you reboot, the value will be recreated automatically.
This might resolve your issue.

Thanks for the reply, This may be a fix, if the problem
was only on one PC, but the results are the same, from
multiple PC's!

Another clue, maybe, that with the USB drive connected,
the server wil not reboot, with the message "Invalid
partition table" (It's trying to boot from the USB
drive), this may well be just a BIOS setting, so not
related. These servers are located in different
countries, hence the use of MSTS.

Has this ever worked?
Does it work on any other machines?

Jason

Yes it has worked
The results are the same from more than one TS client

The problem was resolved by the local support guy. It seems that the power up order is causing the problem. When I get more info about the power up sequence, I will post
