Hi,
I have set up a server in TS application mode, and
configured it so users get into the server and are
presented with the application only, which they can get
into and run, if they log out of the program the sessions
ends. How do I set up another connection(?) so that I can
administer the server remotely? Now all I can do is get
into the application.
Thanks - Wayner

Do you mean in the RDC connection from the users desktop?
If so, how can I lock this down so the end user cannot
change it and get into the server? Some of them are
running 98 so I cannot use permissions...Any way to set up
more then one connection profile at the server lever?
Thanks - Wayne

Sounds like what you've done is configured the startup
program at the server level, i.e. in the Terminal Services
Configuration -> Connections -> RDP -Tcp Properties ->
Environment. If you do this then you'll only get this
program, no matter who logs on.
You should probably change this and set the start program
in user's account, so it doesn't affect you.

If you are using active directory there is a terminal
services tab where you can tell TS to automatically launch
the application. Add a user and do not launch a program
and you will then have the ability to manage the session

Huh?

Please see my previous post.

No, I mean in the account the user uses to log on, i.e.
Active Directory, NT Domain or Local SAM. User Account ->
Properties ->Environment -> Starting Program

CTL-ALT-End and launch Task Manager, then New task, type
in Explorer. What you then want to do to prevent users
from "jumping" in the same way is to deny acces to the
global group that the users are in, (of course, you are
not a member of that group, otherwise ...well, i think you
get the idea.)
