Hello,

My kids have fried our Pentium II Windows '98 system (spyware, viruses--who
knows what else!) and we now get an error when trying to connect to the NET:

res://C:Windows/System\SHDOLCC.DLL/dnsserver.html error. Not a big deal
because I woulde like to upgrade to 2000 Pro anyway.

Question. I have purched a version of Windows 2000 Pro and am trying to
install it. Problem: When the system starts to install, it gets through the
first part of the installation and loads the disk and then gets to the point
where it says "SETUP IS STARTING WINDOWS 2000). Then , it goes to a screen
that pauses and does nothing else!

Is this hopeless to try and install WIndows 2000Pro on this machine or
upgrade it?!!!

I would like to get it going and install Anti-virus and Spybot S&D etc...
and ressurect this machine. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks.
Duane

I can help ya out but I need to know your level of understanding in
