Trying to Upgrade from Me to XP

I get this error message: "An error occurred copying file xptht29D.jpg to
C:\$WIN_NT$~LS\I386\xptht29D.jp_"
I clicked on ignore to try and install without that file, but continued to
get the error message with the number changing from 29D through 33D before I
just stopped. Is there anything I can do to complete the upgrade?

At this stage the setup is copying the bootable 'image' to the C: drive prior
to rebooting and running the setup proper. The failure is most likely due to
a faulty CD, failing CD drive, or to a problem with your HD itself. Try
copying the contents of the CD's i386 folder to the C: drive, and see if that
goes smoothly. Run scandisk over your HD, doing a full surface scan. Also
don't overlook the possibility that the disk is simply full.

ME does not Upgrade to XP. You will need to do a clean install

Peter,

I am unsure where you have obtained this bit of information. According to
everything I can find, your statement is just incorrect. You can upgrade
from Windows ME to Windows XP.

Specifically:

This article describes the supported upgrade paths for Windows XP.

LOL. I don't know either. I was in the Vista groups all night and after being on the computer all day I probably had Vista in my head. Probably thinking ME to Vista Upgrade

Sorry to the OP this was my bad mistake. Yes you can use the Upgrade.
