Trying to setup domain - security ID mappings???

I am currently trying to add a workstation to the domain. The IP
settings are correct and I can ping to the domain controller. When I
try to add the workstation to the domain, I am first prompted to enter
a user name and password. After about ten seconds I get the following
error message - "No mapping between account names and security IDs was
done".

How can I map security IDs? Is there any documentation that you can
refer me to?
