Hi,
I am trying to install WD and am getting the error message invalid F-drive.
I have no other choice but to hit the finish button without installing the
program. Can you please tell me what I may be doing wrong.

Thanks!

Hello Jens,

More specifically, what is Drive F: on your system... a CD, a DVD, a second

internal/external hard disk? It would also be good to know what you have

mounted (or inserted) at drive F if there is anything there.

You are doing nothing wrong. Can you create an F drive, either via a
network share, or using the SUBST command? This may work around the
problem.

I am having a similar problem while trying to instal a number of other types
of programs. One being the HP printer software I got with my printer. I
would really like to know what the the network share is or the SUBST. If you
could be so kind as to inform me.

Thank you.

I am having the same issue. Creating and F partition is of course an option,
but a sh!tty one. If anyone has information on how to get this to install
automatically to the C partition, please speak up.

Here's the fix:

Assuming E is the drive it's telling you is invalid . . .

click start, then run, then type cmd
hit enter
then type subst e: c:\windows
hit enter

try running the installer again, it should work

Thanks for posting that--it was what I was about to suggest, but you saved
me both the trouble of posting and the trouble of checking my syntax!
