i brought my contacts from another computer running office 2003 and the
contacts events such as b-days and anniversaries did not go on calendar. when
i add new events they go on calendar.

mporting is never the method to transfer data from one installation of Outlook to another. Now you know one of the major reasons.

You will need to open each of the contacts, change one item in the birthday details, even if you just retype the date, and then save and close.
