After running the bake-off, it seems that manually focused images
using Vuescan excel in sharpness. I have a downloaded demo, but can't
figure out how to actually operate the manual focus! A little
direction would be appreciated!.

Also, are there other advantages to this s/w that would make me want
to shell out 100 clams? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, the demo won't let you try out the 'advanced' features.
They are only available if you've already paid for the professional
version. But perhaps if you send an e-mail to Ed Hamrick, and explain to
him that this is the decisive feature for you, he might give you a
temporary serial number for the pro version, or propose some other
workaround.

Hello, Wilfred

It's bad marketing anyway. If he wants to sell pro versions he should
make it possible to test pro features and state clearly which features
the standard version does not have...

Don't see an email address on his website... do you have one? If
you don't want to send it publicly, use this web form:

Thanks!
