trying to convert from windows movie maker file format

Do not know how to convert from movie maker format to avi file format so I
can burn a dvd I have a dell computer and it has sonic software on it. My
daughter used movie maker to make a movie for a class project, however does
not remember how to get it to save in the avi format Any help would be much
appreciated. Thanks When you respond i am not a super advanced user so
please use layman's terms

Once you've got all the clips, transitions, effects etc. just the way you
want them in the timeline;

1) Click FILE>SAVE MOVIE FILE
2) choose MY COMPUTER and click NEXT
3) Enter a name for your movie...click NEXT
4) select OTHER SETTINGS and click on the drop down menu......choose DV-AVI
(NTSC) click NEXT.

Your movie will be saved in .AVI format.
