All I have just now is D865 mobo, P4, memory, video card & floppy.
When I turn it on, I expected to see BIOS version, processor, clock
speed,etc...
All I got was a message about no boot device. Mobo does beep after
about 10 secs and floppy does lite up. Why don't I see BIOS info?

i got the PERLL
it has silent boot as factory setting...which means you get the intel screen
instead of the normal bios screen....
press the delete key on when you turn it on...
also check your jumper on your hard drive.. makes bios slow if it`s wrong ,
happened to me...
865PERL is a great board very stable.. extra L gives you LAN and
Firewire..

The new boards boot so quickly that they will be done with the BIOS checks
before the monitor warms up enough for you to see anything. Since you get
the "no boot device" message, I'm guessing that you don't have a bootable
floppy in the drive or that the floppy isn't configured as a boot device in
the BIOS. I don't remember if DEL or F2 is the key to get into the BIOS, I'd
have to reboot to find out and can't write this message if I do that, but
just press and release the key quickly and repeatedly after turning on the
computer until you get the BIOS screen.

That seems to be what happens. I do very breifly see the INTEL splash
screen. I can get into the BIOS with F2. Thanks.

Thanks, can't wait to get it fully running!
