Yes, sir. still in mixed mode. There's no entries in host
files, no DNS entries for any other names but the objects
on the test domain. no external connections. i even did
a ipconfig /flush dns incase anything from the original
environment came over.
i've tried staticly assigning the IP on the nt4 box before
attaching it. i've tried 2 different boxes going through
the NT4 setup to rule out bad hardware/NIC. the name of
the NT4 box i am trying to use is the same as on of the
production DCs- and i can't get it deleted from the test
DC's AD record: if you go to AD's users and
computers>domain computers there is an entry for the same
name i am trying to use for the NT4 server left over from
the original domain record (the original box of the same
name is also NT4, though)
the test DC isn't acting as a "pdc emulator" for objects
trying to attach that use any OS before Win2k.
any ideas?
