I have a user that has upgraded to Windows XP Pro and
whenever she has a problem I and I try to access her pc
from my Win 2k Pro box (using the start->run-
//pcaddress/c$) I get the log on screen like normal;
however, it will not accept my admin lvl user log on or
password. I keep getting an authentication error. Is
there a step on her XP Machine that I have missed that
will allow me to get access again? Any help would be most
appreciated.

Is this a user in a network with a domain? or is it a peer to peer
connection?

Have you tried to connect to her PC using Remote Desktop Connection?

The PCs are on a workgroup. I have tried accessing her PC
in a number of ways, including the use of DameWare NT.

You can try installing the Remote Desk Connection application in your
windows 2000 pro. Then in the XP you need to enable Remote Desktop.

Make sure that the account on the machine your trying to
access has remote access enabled, go to run, and
type "control userpasswords2" click on the account,
properties, group membership, other, remote desktop user.
