You probably got leads with the notebook. First part is to find them! With
my Toshiba notebook, there is a minijack (which connects to the notebook),
with the other ends being the usual yellow (video) red and white (audio left
and right), which connect to the TV.
After this part is done, you'll need to turn on the TV, then reboot the
computer... since poor old Windows cannot see a device that isn't turned on
at startup unless it's USB.
Now you'll either right click on the Desktop and select Properties, then to
to the Settings tab and click Advanced, then Monitor and 'switch' output
from notebook screen to TV or you'll find the manual that came with the
notebook in which case there is probably a pre-designated hot key that will
do the same thing. If you've lost it, there's a good chance a PDF file is
available on the website of your notebook manufacturer for you to download
and read!
