Try to recover XP and it asks for a password

I need to repair my XP. I put my XP CD in the CD drive, boot from
it and chose the recovery option. It asked for the administrator's
password. I entered every password I could think of yet it
wouldn't take it.

What am I missing? Is there a special password?

The Administrators password is blank (no password) by default, just hit
enter and continue.

Usually it is blank. Have you tried leaving the password box blank and pressing OK?
